The annual clash between Vincennes Firefighters and Police to benefit the Salvation Army will return next month.
The Battle of the Badges pits local first responders against each other in a red kettle bell ringing campaign at the Vincennes Wal-Mart, to see who can collect the most cash before days end.
This year’s event is set to take place on Friday, December 20th.
Last year, the Police Department was triumphant one again, raising over $3,500 alone. The Fire Department did their part as well, raising just over $2,400, brining the grand total raised for the battle of the badges to nearly $6,000.
All of that money will go to the Salvation Army, where it will be used locally, to help those in need.
