Phase One of the Vincennes Main Street Project is officially in the books!
City leaders gathered at the corner of Main and Kimmell Thursday afternoon to hold a ceremonial ribbon cutting on the stretch of roadway. Phase One extended from 22nd Street to the Jamestown Square Apartment complex, and saw the addition of a turn lane, sidewalks, streetlights and a bike bath.
Mayor Joe Yochum says he’s glad to have the first portion of the project down, and is looking forward to phases two and three.
The second and third phases of the project will see the same work completed from the apartment complex to Clark Middle School.
Right now, both of those phases are in the design phase.
Work on those phases will be done concurrently, beginning in 2022.
