A Vincennes man was arrested on Thanksgiving night after police say he was driving under the influence with his child in the car.

Just before 9:30, Indiana State and Vincennes Police responded to a two vehicle accident on Washington Avenue.

They say 45-year-old Housman R. Paz, of Vincennes, was driving without his headlights on and rear-ended another vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, but authorities discovered Paz’s 10-year-old son was riding in the back seat of his vehicle.

After reportedly seeing Paz display signs of impairment, police discovered he had a blood alcohol content of .25%.

The young boy was released to his mother, while Paz was taken into custody, charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Passenger under the age of 18, a Class 6 Felony.
