The Knox County Development Corporation is continuing it’s search for a CEO.

Board member Craig Kirk says their focus is on finding a full-time replacement for Kent Utt.

Kirk says they originally thought about hiring someone with local ties to run the office on an interim basis while they sought out candidates for the position.

At this morning’s meeting of the Board of Directors, Kirk says the decision has been made to pursue a full time replacement.

Without mentioning any names, Kirk says at least 2 people with ties to the Knox County Community have inquired about the CEO’s job.

The position has been advertised both locally and statewide.

Kirk says they are also planning to post the job on the International Economic Development website in order to get a wider range of applicants.

At this time, the group has no timeline for hiring the CEO’s job.
