Knox County Democrats have selected Kevin Meyer to become the next County Councilman.

That was the decision made by precinct committeemen Saturday morning during a 9:00 a.m. caucus.  He was chosen over fellow Democrats Dan Reitmeyer and Ray McCormick.

Meyer, who has previously served as a County Commissioner, will fill the soon-to-be vacant seat of At-Large Councilman Tim Crowley.

Earlier this year, Crowley announced he would be stepping down at the end of the year and retiring.

Meyer will fulfill the remaining year of Crowley’s term, and is expected to run for re-election in 2020.

The final regularly scheduled Knox County Council meeting of 2019 is set to take place Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Vincennes City Hall.
