River levels continue to rise in our area, after a weekend full of heavy rainfall.
The Wabash River in Vincennes continues to inch towards 18 feet as water continues to run down from the northern parts of the state. The Wabash is expected to reach just under 20 feet by the weekend, although that still falls short of moderate flood stage.
The White River at Edwardsport is a different story. That river is sitting at Moderate Flood stage as water levels continue to rise.
Before the end of the week, the White River is expected to reach 24 feet, in the higher end of moderate flood stage.
Emergency officials remind motorists to never drive through high waters, especially when the road bed isn’t visible.
