A local university is working on a partnership that could help people get higher paying jobs.

Radius Indiana is teaming up with Vincennes University Jasper for a new manufacturing training program called Catapult.

The program will be located on the Vincennes University Jasper campus in Dubois County.

Officials hope the program will enhance the skills of people who want to enter the manufacturing workforce.

The Catapult program will provide modern manufacturing training and provide connections between graduates and existing local businesses.

Additionally, people who sign up for the program will be paid an hourly wage while they’re enrolled.

Officials say allows people who are in low-income jobs to be able to afford the training and  move into higher-wage manufacturing jobs after they graduate.

It all ties into Radius Indiana’s larger plan to attract talent and improve retention rates in southern Indiana.

People in eight different Southern Indiana counties will be able to take advantage of the program.

This includes Daviess, Dubois, Greene, and Martin as well as the city of Washington.
