One local healthcare facility will take its practice on the road.

Good Samaritan Center’s Integrated Mobile Wellness Unit will visit the Shoals community to provide mental and behavioral wellness care on Monday, October 25th.

The unit visits rural communities around southern Indiana that lack access to mental health services.

Officials hope to provide primary care, educate people and remove the stigma associated with receiving care.

Good Samaritan says 1 in five American adults are diagnosed with a mental health condition and around 18 percent of Americans live with an anxiety disorder.

The Samaritan Center is part of a regional mental health center.

The services they provide with the mobile unit were made possible with a 4 million dollar federal grant.
