Two local high school girls’ basketball teams went to battle last night.
Rivet hosted North Knox in an early-season Blue Chip Match-up.
The Patriots jumped out to a 17-2 advantage after the first quarter and never trailed the rest of the way.
The Warriors pulled within four with 1:48 left in the game, but Rivet senior Maddi Halter went 6 of 7 from the free-throw line to cement the victory for the Patriots.
Rivet wins, 57-47.
The Patriots were led by Halter, who finished with 17 points.
For the Warriors, Gracie Poe scored 17.
Rivet improves to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Blue Chip, while North Knox falls to 3-2 with a 2-1 Blue Chip record.
North Knox is on the road again tomorrow when they travel to Bloomfield Saturday with tip-off at 6:30.
Meanwhile, Rivet is off until Monday when they travel to Shoals for tipoff at 6 pm.
