New software has put the local hospital in the top 10% globally for quality mammograms.
Good Samaritan Hospital was the first hospital in Southwestern Indiana to adopt mammography quality software from Volpara Health.
Volpara Analytics uses artificial intelligence to provide automated assessment of exam quality on every mammogram. It evaluates positioning, compression, radiation dose and image quality.
In a news release, the hospital reports that within the first six months of using the tools, they achieved a ranking within the top 10% of all global users.
Specifically, they are ranked 12th in the world, and 8th in the United States.
Crystal Beadles, Mammography Manager at Good Samaritan says they are thrilled to have achieved the high ranking saying Volpara helps them be consistent in adhering to mammography quality guidelines ensuring high-quality screenings, optimal care and follow-up.
Good Sam’s Breast Care Center is open for appointments daily with walk-ins welcome Monday through Thursday next week.
