Vincennes PBS – Content Specialist
Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the Content Specialist position. This is a full-time professional staff position located at the VU Main site. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing, shooting, editing and managing content across multiple platforms, while being a skilled communicator with a keen eye for detail, a passion for public media, and substantial experience in video production.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other team members to develop original content ideas for television and digital platforms.
- Research and propose new programming concepts that align with our station’s mission and audience interests.
- Assist in scriptwriting, storyboarding, and production planning.
- Plan, shoot, and edit video content for both broadcast and digital platforms.
- Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to capture high-quality footage.
- Edit raw footage into polished final products, including color correction, sound editing, and adding graphics or special effects.
- Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity, and quality.
- Ensure all content meets copyright and licensing requirements.
- Conduct regular quality checks on broadcast and digital content to ensure optimal presentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in digital storytelling and multimedia journalism.
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) and familiarity with video production equipment.
- Familiarity with social media management and digital marketing strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing culture and environment.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Normal physical demands for successful work in a normal broadcast environment. Ability to lift 50 pounds when reaching overhead, bending and twisting. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to utilize hands for general office work including typing and writing.
