Two figures with connections to Vincennes and Knox County have been awarded Indiana’s top agricultural honor, the AgriVision Award.
The Indiana State Department of Agriculture presented the award at the Indiana State Fair to John Baugh, Director of Agricultural Services and Regulations at Purdue University, and Ed Ebert, Senior Director of Market Development for the Indiana Soybean Alliance and Indiana Corn Marketing Council.
John Baugh has played a critical role in advancing agricultural education and infrastructure in the Vincennes region. His efforts helped establish joint facilities between Purdue University and Vincennes, located near the Purdue Southwest Agricultural Center in Knox County.
Baugh’s contributions also include securing legislative support for Purdue’s new veterinary hospital and other key agricultural initiatives.
Ed Ebert, another honoree, has worked tirelessly to open global markets for Indiana’s corn and soybean farmers. He promotes Hoosier-grown crops worldwide, ensuring better returns for local farmers. In 2023 alone, Ebert engaged with 31 countries to expand markets for Indiana’s agricultural products.
Both awardees have been praised for their vision, dedication, and lasting impact on Indiana’s agricultural sector.
