The Pantheon in Vincennes is set to host the inaugural First Founders Pitch Competition, a two-night event showcasing local high school entrepreneurs.
On April 2 and 3 at 6 p.m., 20 semifinalist teams will present their business ideas to judges, peers, and the community. After a seven-minute pitch, only six teams will advance to the finals on April 3 to compete for startup funding.
The top team will win $3,000, with second place earning $2,000 and third place receiving $1,000. The event is part of the First Founders program, funded by a $40,000 state grant to support entrepreneurial education.
Students from North Knox, South Knox, Rivet, Lincoln, and Pike-Central High Schools are participating. The competition is free and open to the public at The Pantheon.
