Pike County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Ashley Willis was in Indianapolis this week for the signing of a new law designed to boost Indiana’s business climate.

Governor Mike Braun signed Senate Bill 516 into law, officially creating the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The new state office is intended to serve as a central hub for Hoosiers looking to start or grow a business and will help consolidate resources and support across Indiana.

Willis attended the ceremonial signing alongside members of Indiana Technology and Innovation, Senator Brian Buchanan, and Representative Daniel Lopez. She is also a member of the Right to Start Coalition, which advocated for the bill to make entrepreneurship more accessible and effective in all corners of the state.

Indiana Chamber of Commerce President Vanessa Green Sinders says in a news release that the  office will create economic opportunities in every community in the state, including those that may have been previously underserved boosting Indiana’s small business climate.
