The Vincennes Fortnightly Club will hold a TABLESCAPING Contest in connection with its
annual Faith Fest event on Wednesday, September 25 at the Fortnightly Clubhouse, 421 N.
Sixth Street. The public is invited to come and view the creative designs and vote for their
favorites. The event is a fund raiser for the Good Samaritan Hospital’s Hospice, which serves
Knox and surrounding counties in Indiana and Lawrence County in Illinois.
Local merchants have made a donation to the Hospice as an entry fee to the contest, and they
will set up decorative dinner table displays to promote their businesses and compete for the
votes of all who attend. Viewing and voting for the tablescapes will commence at 12:30 when
the doors open. Light refreshments will be available to attendees as they view the tablescapes
and cast their votes. Gazella Summit is the speaker for the event. Her faith-based talk
will begin at 1 :30, and is titled “Table of Grace.” Jane Russell, Director for the Hospice
program, will also join Ms. Summitt to provide information about the services of the local
Six local businesses have agreed to design tablescapes for the event: Root’s Florist, Knox
County Public Library, Graze 1885, Jewel’s – the Enchanted Florist, Sodexo, and Pure Hearts,
Clean Hands Soap Company. Those who purchase a $5 advance ticket will also receive a
ballot to vote for their favorite tablescape design. On the day of the event, additional ballots
will be available for sale for $1 to all those in attendance. All proceeds will go to the GSH
