SUMMARY:Pad & Tampon Drive
DESCRIPTION:Health Connection of Pace Community Action Agency\, Inc. is proud to announce the 2025 Pad and Tampon Drive\, a powerful community initiative running throughout August and September to address menstrual poverty and promote health equity. This year’s campaign focuses on ensuring that every student in our local schools has the supplies they need to manage their menstrual health with dignity\, confidence\, and comfort.\nMenstrual poverty continues to impact education\, wellness\, and opportunity. Across the United States\, nearly 1 in 5 girls have missed school because they lacked access to menstrual products\, a barrier that should never stand between a student and their education. When students have the resources they need\, they can focus on learning\, participating\, and thriving without interruption.\n“Menstrual health is a human right\, not a privilege\,” said Michelle Pitcher\, Clinical Services Director. “By working together as a community\, we can eliminate one of the most preventable causes of missed school days and help students feel supported.”\nWe invite individuals\, businesses\, and community groups to take part in this movement. Your contribution will be distributed to schools that serve vulnerable populations.\nWays to Donate \n\nDrop-Off Donations: Bring unopened packages of sanitary pads\, tampons\, panty liners\, menstrual cups\, or other menstrual hygiene products to your nearest Health Connection clinic.\nFind locations: https://www.pacecaa.org/health-connection\nArrange a Pick-Up: Contact your local clinic to schedule a product pick-up by our team.\nAmazon Wish Lists: Ship donations directly to the county you wish to support:\no Knox County: https://a.co/bb28zUT\no Lawrence County: https://a.co/9pNkChQ\no Vigo County: https://a.co/3vaNul3\no Daviess County: https://a.co/5VeJ4qJ\no Sullivan County: https://a.co/ecVfWZn\n\nAccess to menstrual hygiene products directly affects school attendance\, mental health\, and self-esteem. By participating in the Pad and Tampon Drive\, you’re helping break down barriers\, fight stigma\, and ensure that no student’s education is disrupted because of a natural biological process.\nTogether\, we can close the gap in menstrual health access\, one donation at a time.\nFor more information contact Dr. Michelle Pitcher APRN\, FNP-BC\, NP-C at mpitcher@pacecaa.org \n### \nPace Community Action Agency\, Inc. is a private not-for-profit Community Action Agency established to provide support services to improve the community and encourage self-reliance. Services are provided without regard to race\, age\, color\, religion\, sex\, disability\, national origin\, ancestry\, familial status\, or status as a veteran.\nWe Educate\, Empower and Improve through organized steps at a personalized pace!\nFollow us on Facebook\, Twitter & Instagram www.pacecaa.org

SUMMARY:Vincennes 250. Relive The Revolution.
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate our nation’s birthday\nJoin us in historic Vincennes for an unforgettable year-long celebration of America’s 250th anniversary! As Indiana’s premier Revolutionary War site\, we’re pulling out all the stops with monthly guest speakers\, thrilling reenactments\, delicious period-inspired food\, and plenty of surprises along the way. Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for fun with the family\, there’s something for everyone as we bring the past to life and honor the spirit of 1776 all year long. Come relive the Revolution—only in Vincennes! Vincennes Revolutionary War History \nConnect with our Revolutionary War History\nThe Battle of Fort Sackville\, fought in February 1779 during the American Revolutionary War\, was a pivotal victory for the American forces. Led by Lieutenant Colonel George Rogers Clark\, a small group of frontiersmen and militia marched through harsh winter conditions to surprise the British-held fort in Vincennes\, Indiana. Using clever tactics\, including deception to exaggerate the size of his force\, Clark convinced British Lieutenant Governor Henry Hamilton to surrender without a prolonged fight. The capture of Fort Sackville secured the Northwest Territory for the Americans and boosted morale\, making it one of the most important frontier victories of the war. \n2026 Calendar of Events\nAll 2026 events are tentatively scheduled\, and may change in theme closer to the date\, however we will update this website as events get closer! \nMarch 14 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series “Women in Revolutionary History” at Grouseland\nApril 11 at 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series TBD at George Rogers Clark National Historical Park\nMay 9 at 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series “Revolutionary War and the French Connection”\nMay 23-24 The Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous\nJune 13 at 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series – “The US Flag” at the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy\nJuly 4 Independence Day Parade\nJuly 11 at 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series “Revolution and Beyond” at Vincennes State Historic Sites\nAug. 8 at 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series “Institutions”\nSept. 12 at 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series TBD\nOct. 10 at 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series “Crime and Punishment”\nNov. 14 at 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series Native American Heritage Month Program\nDec. 4 Christmas Parade\, Grouseland and State Sites Candlelit Christmas\nDec. 4-5 Christkindlmarkt in Downtown Vincennes\nDec. 13 at 2 p.m. Second Saturday Speaker Series “Christmas Customs” \nOath of Allegiance\nOn Sunday\, July 20th\, 1778\, the people of Vincennes gathered after Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church. Dr. Jean Baptiste Laffont and Father Pierre Gibault\, newly-arived from Kashakia\, read a message from Col. George Rogers Clark asking for their support of the American Cause. That day 186 French citizens swore an Oath of Allegiance on the Gospels\, kissed a crucifix and signed a copy of the oath. With this document Vincennes declared its independence from Britain and allegiance to the American Revolution. \nAs part of the 250th celebration\, Vincennes will dedicate a monument to the patriots that signed the oath. \nSign Your Oath!\nAs part of the 250th push\, we’re collecting signatures of those still dedicated to democracy and the call to freedom! Sign below to give permission for us to use your signature in promotional materials celebrating the 250th anniversary!
