The Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes will host its 5th annual Spring World War II Days event this weekend.
The two-day event features Axis and Allied reenactor troops, military vehicles, living history displays, and a possible flyover. Visitors can also see battle reenactments, anti-tank gun and tank destruction demonstrations, uniform and weapons presentations, and explore military vendor booths.
Events run Saturday and Sunday. A full schedule and more details are available on the museum’s website.
Spring World War II Days is held to honor and reflect on the history of the war and its veterans.
World War II began in September 1939 with Germany’s invasion of Poland. Britain and France declared war on Germany two days later. The United States entered the war after the December 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. The conflict ended in 1945 with the surrender of Germany in May and Japan in September.
