The Vincennes Community School Board met Monday morning and approved several key items, including the promotion of Tricia Hall to principal at Clark Middle School. Hall previously served as the school’s assistant principal and brings years of experience from both VCSC and North Knox.

Board members also accepted an $11,500 Duke Energy grant to support the annual Career Fair at Lincoln High School and mini career fairs at the elementary schools. The funds can be used for materials, speakers, and career exploration curriculum.

Sodexo was reapproved as the district’s food service provider following a required five-year review. The company’s proposal includes a potential $66,000 annual return to the corporation and a pledged $10,000 annual donation to student-focused initiatives.

Additionally, the board awarded two major facility improvement contracts for Lincoln High School. H.G. Heinz will handle the chiller replacement project with a total package under budget at $860,000 plus alternates. Wolfe Construction was awarded phase one of the sprinkler system replacement with a bid just over $1.1 million.
