
The region’s first county fair kicks off this weekend. The Daviess County Fair in Elnora has a full week of activities planned with preliminary events this weekend.
On Saturday, June 14, community arts entries will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday is designated as Family Fun Day, featuring a car show, food trucks, a foam party, and new inflatable attractions. The car show parade begins at 3 p.m., with awards and art project judging at 4 p.m.
Fair buildings open daily starting Monday, with amusement rides, a kids’ corner, and a nightly bicycle drawing. The Miss and Teen Miss Pageant is Tuesday at 4 p.m., followed by more pageants Wednesday and a foam party from 7 to 9 p.m.
Later in the week, the fair features a dog agility show and painting class on Thursday, a junkyard race on Friday, and Saturday’s baby show and demolition derby.
We are a month away from the Knox County Fair at the fairgrounds in Bicknell. It officially opens Monday, July 14, with a pre-fair concert scheduled for Saturday, July 12, featuring River City Revival and The Time Travelers. Tickets for the concert are $5.
