Daviess Community Hospital is moving to a new partnership that leaders say will better serve patients.
According to a story in the Washington Times Herald, DCH will end its management affiliation with St. Vincent’s Ascension and instead partner with Deaconess Health System.
Hospital board president Deron Steiner says after a change in leadership, the board wanted to take a fresh look at how to best provide for the community’s health needs. He says Deaconess has a strong regional presence in southwestern Indiana, southeastern Illinois, and northern Kentucky — and their model stood out during the search process.
Patients won’t see immediate changes, but updates like a new electronic medical records system are planned to improve care. Current CEO Justin Harris and CFO April Settles will stay on under the new structure.
