The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says more arrests are pending in an investigation that began last week and has already netted one arrest.
On Monday, the sheriff’s department reported that it had received multiple tips about marijuana cultivation at a Monroe City residence last week. On Sunday, July 6, at approximately 5 p.m., deputies served a search warrant at a property on East Lucky Point Road in Wheatland.
During the search, officers found several marijuana plants, THC gummies, processed marijuana, and multiple devices used for smoking marijuana. Deputies also recovered several firearms, including a homemade gun without a serial number, commonly known as a “ghost gun.”
Fifty-eight-year-old Kenneth Baize was arrested and booked into the Knox County Jail. He faces charges of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a level 4 felony; possession of a controlled substance, a level 6 felony; possession of a legend drug, a level 6 felony; and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff’s office says additional arrests are expected.
