Storms caused widespread damage and power outages Monday night.

In Bicknell, Mayor Thomas Estabrook reports downed trees and utility lines and causing scattered power outages—particularly in the southern part of town.

The French Club sustained roof damage during the storm’s powerful winds.  Estabrook says city crews and volunteers responded quickly, clearing roads of fallen limbs and debris.

Duke Energy reported damage to a substation and several poles, including the need to replace cross arms on four poles along Illinois Street. Crews have been working through the night to restore power, with full restoration expected this morning.

Cleanup efforts are expected to continue over the next several days.

In Vincennes, a power pole was blown over on Essex Road and burned for several hours and the pole had to be replaced. Other power lines and trees were blown down.
