Daviess Community Hospital has been awarded $500,000 in READI 2.0 funding to support its Healing Horizons project, a major investment in emergency care and diagnostic services.
The grant comes from the Indiana Uplands READI Steering Committee, Regional Opportunity Initiatives, and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Combined with more than $5 million in local funding, the hospital is making upgrades to both its Emergency Department and Radiology Department.
Radiology improvements include a new MRI suite, updated waiting and reception areas, and better patient privacy and workflow. The new MRI scanner allows for faster, higher-quality imaging and a more comfortable experience.
The Emergency Department expansion added six more emergency rooms, a trauma room, a larger waiting area, and a new ambulance entrance. Other additions include a decontamination room, EMS workspace, and a dedicated security office.
Hospital leaders say the upgrades will help them deliver care more quickly and efficiently, especially for seniors, families, and patients managing chronic conditions.
