A Princeton man has been sentenced to nine years in the Indiana Department of Correction after admitting to possessing child sexual abuse material, according to a Gibson County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The investigation began in October 2024 when the county’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force reviewed a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children report involving Noah Chappell. Detectives served a search warrant and uncovered dozens of illegal images and videos.

Chappell admitted to receiving and storing the material through the Telegram messaging app and on a hard drive. He was arrested in June 2025 and pleaded guilty on August 21 to three Level 5 felony counts of possession of child pornography.

Chappell will serve nine years, with three years suspended to probation, and must register as a sex offender for life.
