vu-walkers

Students in Vincennes University’s five public safety programs came together Thursday to honor the first responders who died in the September 11th terrorist attacks.

Participants from Conservation Law Enforcement, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Fire Response and Safety Technology, Homeland Security and Public Safety, and Legal Studies walked 441 laps around the university’s outdoor track. Each lap represented one of the 441 first responders who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.

The evening began with a memorial reading before students started the walk, creating a moving tribute to those who gave their lives in service  24 years ago.
