A third person has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries at a residence near Haubstadt.

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were first alerted to suspicious activity on South 200 East the evening of September 28. When officers checked the property early the next morning, they found an unfamiliar vehicle and movement inside the home. Two suspects, 53-year-old Homer Dersch and 33-year-old Katie Henderson, both of Oakland City, attempted to flee through a window but were taken into custody.

Dersch was charged with burglary with a deadly weapon, a Level 2 felony. Henderson faces charges of burglary, possession of methamphetamines, and possession of paraphernalia.

On September 29, detectives also questioned 47-year-old Shelly Manion of Princeton in connection with the ongoing investigation. Authorities say probable cause was established linking her to one of the incidents, and she was booked into the Gibson County Detention Center on a burglary charge.

The investigation remains active.
