A medical issue was said to have contributed to a crash that turned fatal in Knox County on Tuesday.
At about 12:14, deputies were called to US 41 South near Schenk Drive. A semi truck loaded with coal crossed the median and both northbound lanes before crashing into an embankment and overturning in a cornfield.
The driver, a 48-year-old man from West Salem, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the truck.
