State Road 241 will be temporarily shut down later this week.

Crews plan to close the stretch between Buchanan Street and Cates Road, just outside Monroe City, beginning Thursday for a pipe replacement project.

The job is expected to continue into Friday, weather permitting. Through traffic will be detoured along State Road 61, Bierhaus Boulevard, U.S. 41, and U.S. 50.

Local residents will still be able to travel on SR 241 up to the barricades on either side of the work zone.
