A deadline is fast approaching for Daviess County residents seeking help after this summer’s flooding. The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is closing applications for the State Disaster Relief Fund this Thursday, October 9th.
The fund was set up after the June 30th floods to assist uninsured or underinsured homeowners with damage costs. Qualified residents could receive up to two thousand dollars to cover immediate needs.
Officials say payments are already being issued to those approved. Once the deadline passes, no more applications for this specific disaster will be accepted.
