The average wage for Hoosiers has risen over the past nine months. Governor Mike Braun says it’s a sign that Indiana’s economic development approach, which emphasizes wage growth, is paying off.
In a news release, Braun says jobs receiving state incentives saw a ten percent wage increase since January, while the average amount the state spent on those jobs dropped by nearly two-thirds. Braun says that growing wages while using fewer taxpayer dollars is both productive and innovative.
He adds that Indiana is working with the business community to make the state an attractive place to build careers and companies. Braun says his administration’s focus remains on maximizing taxpayer dollars, creating high-paying jobs, and strengthening families and communities.
