Vincennes Community Schools Superintendent Greg Parsley shared highlights of a tentative teacher contract at Monday night’s regular school board meeting.
Parsley said the proposed two-year agreement covers the 2025 to 2027 school years and includes several changes aimed at supporting teachers and maintaining competitive pay across southwestern Indiana.
Under the plan, health savings account contributions will increase across all coverage levels, benefit days will be reduced from 16 to 15, and a $750 to $1,000 annual stipend will be provided for teachers who use four or fewer benefit days.
Retiring teachers with at least 20 years of service will receive up to $8,450 for accumulated unused days. The contract also raises the salary range to between $47,000 and $77,500 by the 2026-27 school year and includes added stipends for teachers with literacy endorsements, special education credentials, and Early College teaching responsibilities.
The tentative agreement has been preliminarily approved by the Vincennes Education Association. The board is scheduled to formally ratify the new two-year contract at their November board meeting.
