The Vincennes University Aviation Technology Center is featured in this week’s Southern Indiana Business Report.

High school students from Dubois, Pike, Perry, and Spencer Counties toured the VU Aviation Technology Center in Indianapolis last week to explore careers in aviation.

Students enrolled in the Vincennes University Jasper and Patoka Valley Career and Technical Education Cooperative Aviation program tested flight simulators and learned about VU’s aviation degrees that can lead to jobs as pilots, aircraft technicians, and other aviation professionals.

The dual-enrollment program allows students to earn college credit while still in high school, combining classroom instruction with hands-on experience at the Huntingburg Airport.

VU Jasper’s Jacob Berg says partnerships like this help students connect their education with real-world career opportunities.

In addition to aviation, VUJ and the Patoka Valley Cooperative offer programs in eight other areas, including construction, health sciences, business, and robotics.
