An injured dog that had been missing for several days near Kohl’s in Vincennes is now safe and receiving care, thanks to teamwork between the Vincennes Animal Shelter and McCormick’s Thermal Drone Services.

According to social media posts, shelter staff began searching for the dog last Monday after reports that it had been struck by a vehicle on Bierhaus Boulevard. Despite several attempts, the animal remained out of reach until Friday, when the shelter enlisted the help of McCormick’s drone team.

Using a thermal camera, the drone located the dog hidden in dense brush. Shelter staff then worked for hours to reach and safely capture her. The dog was taken to Southgate Veterinary Clinic for treatment.

In a post, McCormick’s Thermal Drone Services praised the shelter’s persistence, saying their efforts gave the dog “a second chance at life.” The Vincennes Animal Shelter also thanked the community for its concern and support, noting that the search was “definitely worth navigating dense brush for half the day to ensure her safety.”
