Two people face multiple felony charges after a traffic stop on U.S. 41 South led to the discovery of drugs in a vehicle and a Vincennes hotel room.

Deputy Parker Tromley stopped a Jeep Liberty Friday night near Old Decker Road for an equipment violation. The driver, 53-year-old Douglas Gray, was found to have a suspended license.

Deputy David Linenburg and his K9 partner Blast conducted a sniff of the vehicle, which alerted deputies to narcotics. Inside, they found methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia.

Gray and his passenger, 23-year-old Franklin Seals, were arrested and booked into the Knox County Jail on several charges, including dealing and possession of methamphetamine.

A hotel key found on Gray led deputies to a room belonging to 44-year-old Candice Howie, where more meth was found hidden in the toilet tank.

A warrant for Howie’s arrest is being sought, and the investigation remains ongoing.
