All-District Honor Band Set for VU

The Vincennes University Performing Arts Department will host the southwest site of the Indiana Bandmasters Association 2025 All-District Honor Band on Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23 at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. Vincennes University is one of ten sites throughout the state selected to host the annual event.

The Vincennes site will feature 84 student musicians from nineteen high schools across the region, including Barr-Reeve, Bloomfield, Boonville, Gibson Southern, Heritage Hills, Loogootee, Mater Dei, Mount Vernon, North Daviess, North Knox, North Posey, Pike Central, Princeton Community, South Knox, Southridge, Tecumseh, Terre Haute West Vigo, Vincennes-Lincoln, and Washington. Students will rehearse throughout the day on Saturday and again on Sunday before presenting a public concert.

The ensemble will be under the direction of guest conductor Bryen Warfield, who is currently pursuing a Doctoral of Arts in Wind Band Conducting and Music Education at Ball State University. Warfield attended Vincennes University, studying with Jason King and Sharon “Susie” Jackson, before earning a Bachelor of Music degree in Tuba Performance from the University of Louisville and a Master of Music in Wind Band Conducting from The Ohio State University. He has led and assisted band and orchestra programs in Indiana and remains active as a clinician, adjudicator, and conductor, including work with high schools, colleges, and national drum corps.

The concert will take place at 4:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, November 23 in the Skelton Theatre. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m.
