Officials with  Lawrence County Unit 20 Schools say Cris Edwards has been named the new interim principal at Parkview Junior High School.  She steps into the role immediately, following the recent resignation of Andrea Youngs.

Edwards is returning to a familiar building. She previously taught Language Arts and Social Studies at Parkview from 1993 to 2007 before spending 18 years in administrative roles in the Richland County School District in Olney.  She retired last year after serving as principal of Richland County Elementary.

Edwards holds degrees from Eastern Illinois University and has been recognized as the Illinois Elementary School Principal of the Year, as well as a National Distinguished Principal.
