A Winslow woman was arrested Tuesday night after Indiana State Police say she was driving while impaired with four children in her vehicle.

According to the Putnamville District, the incident happened around 8:44 p.m. on November 25 when Trooper Sturm stopped a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder on State Road 61 near County Road 400 South for not having a license plate light.

Police identified the driver as 34-year-old Lerie Ridenour of Winslow. During the traffic stop, Trooper Sturm reported smelling alcohol inside the vehicle and noted that Ridenour showed signs of impairment.

Troopers also discovered four female juveniles inside the vehicle, ages 9 to 12. Three of the children were not related to Ridenour.

After further investigation, police determined Ridenour was under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and taken to the Pike County Jail.
