Fox Ridge Manor will close its doors on December 31st, ending operations at the Vincennes senior and assisted-living facility. The move follows this year’s sale of the property to Tutera Senior Living & Health Care.
Tutera notified staff of the decision before residents were informed. In a statement sent to Terre Haute stations WTWO and WTHI, Tutera Vice President of Operations Mike Ross said the decision was difficult but necessary due to market conditions that made the facility unsustainable. He said the company is working to help residents relocate and is coordinating with nearby communities that provide similar levels of care.
According to recent news reports, Fox Ridge management has already placed most residents in other facilities and continues to work on options for those who remain.
Residents and family members who spoke with Terre Haute reporters described uncertainty about the short timeline and concern about finding appropriate housing as the closure date approaches.
