
The WIN Energy REMC Community Trust has awarded more than fifteen-thousand dollars in grants to five local organizations.
Heart to Heart received funding for mother and baby safety items used in its learn-and-earn program. Helping His Hands Disaster Response was awarded money toward the purchase of a mini excavator. Life After Meth received funds to buy a laptop and medication storage cabinets. Pike County Christian Assistance will use its grant to purchase food for families in need. The Thunderbird Fire Protection Territory received funding for a battery-powered ventilation fan.
The Community Trust is funded through WIN Energy’s Operation Round Up program, which allows members to round their monthly electric bills up to the nearest dollar. Since the program began in 2013, more than 250 grants have been awarded, totaling over seven-hundred-ninety-three-thousand dollars.
