A serious injury crash is under investigation in Gibson County.

Authorities say the crash was called in  Monday evening at 5:13 p.m. local time.  It happened on State Road 65, about a half-mile south of County Road 400 North, north of Princeton.

Investigators report a southbound Lexus crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound Chrysler Pacifica.

Fire crews from Patoka Township and Union Fire worked together to free people trapped inside the vehicles. Gibson County Ambulance Service transported the injured to area hospitals.

Officials say one person suffered critical injuries. At least two others were treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, with assistance from the department’s drone response team. Princeton Police also helped secure the scene.

The crash remains an active and ongoing investigation.
