Adam Thacker officially became the hospital’s 10th president and CEO today, following the retirement of longtime leader Rob McLin. Good Samaritan is marking the transition as it enters its 118th year of serving the region.

Thacker joined Good Samaritan in 2013 as vice president of professional services and was named chief operating officer in 2016. He most recently served as president and chief administrative officer, helping guide the organization through continued growth and changes in health care.

Thacker says his focus will remain on caregivers, patient care, and maintaining strong ties within the organization and the community. He also emphasized the importance of clinical quality, long-term sustainability, and keeping care close to home.

Thacker grew up in Bridgeport, Illinois, just minutes from the hospital, and now lives in the community with his family. He says the role is personal and centered on serving patients and families across the region.

A meet-and-greet reception for Thacker will be held Thursday, February 12, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Charles C. Hedde, MD Health Education Center.
