A shooting was reported over the weekend in Vincennes and one person was jailed for attempted murder

Police responded to the 500 block of East Scott Street after a report of shots fired around midnight on Saturday.

When they arrived, they found one person with gunshot wounds. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police set up a perimeter, but no suspect was located at the scene.

A short time later an alleged suspect was identified. 400-year-old Junior Sergo Theodore of Vincennes was interviewed, arrested, and taken to the Knox County Jail.

He was booked at 4:41 Sunday morning on a charge of attempted murder and is being held on a $7,500 bond.

No other information has been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
