The Knox County Cyber Crimes Unit was instrumental in an investigation involving a substitute teacher in Washington.

Washington Police say the unit reviewed items seized from the home of Wayne Armstrong the Second after a search warrant was served.

Armstrong is charged with performing sexual conduct in the presence of a minor and public indecency.

Police say the case began January twenty-second, when a school resource officer reported concerns to detectives. As part of the investigation, Washington Community Schools notified parents whose students may have had Armstrong as a substitute, and detectives later interviewed those students.

The case was reviewed by the Daviess County Prosecutor’s Office, which issued an arrest warrant.

Armstrong was arrested Monday without incident.
