The second annual Blaze to a Community Cancer Cure fundraiser happens this Saturday at Vincennes University, with proceeds supporting cancer research and local families facing cancer.

The event will be held at the VU PE Complex and features a basketball doubleheader. The women’s team takes on Rend Lake College at 2 p.m., followed by the men’s game against Malcolm X College at 4.

Vincennes University Athletics is partnering with Good Samaritan Hospital and its foundation. Organizers say funds raised through ticket sales, donations, and merchandise will go toward helping local families dealing with cancer, with a portion also supporting research and treatment services.
