
Memories, accolades, and condolences to Jeff Kolb’s family have been filling local social media in recent days. Kolb, a longtime Vincennes attorney and senior partner at Emison Law Group, died February 7th in Indianapolis following heart surgery. He was 74.
Kolb practiced law in Vincennes for 50 years, focusing on probate and estate law. He helped write the Indiana Power of Attorney Act in 1991 and the Indiana Legacy Trust Act in 2019, and was widely recognized for his work in estate planning.
Over his career, he received multiple honors from the Indiana State Bar Association, including a Lifetime Service Award and a Presidential Citation. In 2019, he was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash.
Kolb was also active in the community, serving on the Vincennes Community School Board for 11 years and holding leadership roles with the YMCA, Knox County Community Foundation, and United Way.
A celebration of life will be held March 21st from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Grand Banquet Hall in Vincennes. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
