The Vincennes Civitan Club will present its 2026 Citizen of the Year award to Steve Blinn during a public reception on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Hedde Education Center at Good Samaritan Hospital. The event is open to the public.

The Citizen of the Year award has been presented since 1954 and recognizes individuals or groups for volunteer service that makes a significant impact on the community.

Civitan President Samantha Yochum said Blinn was selected for his longtime involvement in local organizations and his leadership with the Vincennes Cub League’s Buddy Ball program. He has coached and helped lead the program, which serves athletes with disabilities, for 18 years.

Blinn has also been active in a number of civic and charitable efforts, including Rotary, Kiwanis, the Salvation Army, United Way, the YMCA, the Knights of Columbus and the Vincennes Chamber of Commerce. Additional organizations he has supported include Purdue Extension, Riley Children’s Hospital, the March of Dimes, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Quail Unlimited, the Wabash Valley Sportsman’s Club and the Vincennes Trap Club.

In local government, Blinn serves as president of the Vincennes Board of Works and is a member of the Vincennes Redevelopment Commission.

He is a senior vice president and commercial relationship manager at Old National Bank. He joined the bank in 2000 after a career with Security Bank and Trust. Blinn is a 1979 graduate of Lincoln High School and completed banking coursework at Vincennes University, along with professional certifications from Valparaiso University and the University of Colorado.

Blinn and his wife, Regina, a member of the Vincennes City Council, have two adult sons and three granddaughters.

Founded in 1952, the Vincennes Civitan Club supports a range of community projects, with an emphasis on programs for people with developmental disabilities. The club has long supported the KCARC Civitan Children’s Center and has contributed to projects including Minooteeni Park and a scholarship for Vincennes University education majors.
