The Indiana Attorney General’s Office is reminding Hoosiers to watch for signs of human trafficking following recent arrests in Indianapolis.
Authorities say five people were arrested in connection with an alleged sex-trafficking ring.
Human trafficking involves the exploitation of individuals through forced labor, commercial sex acts, or other services.
Warning signs can include individuals who appear fearful or unable to speak for themselves, people living in poor conditions or with their employer, signs of abuse, rehearsed answers to questions, and minors involved in commercial sex acts.
Anyone who suspects human trafficking is urged to contact local law enforcement or the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.
