Today is Good Friday and marks the start of a weekend of Easter-related events across the Vincennes area.

The annual Way of the Cross begins at noon in downtown Vincennes at the Old Cathedral. The procession will make 14 stops with scripture readings at each location throughout the afternoon.

An Easter egg hunt is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Lodge of the Wabash on Ramsey Road.

Several events are planned for Saturday, April 4th.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny for children 12 and under will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Foxridge Nature Park. A sensory-friendly Easter event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at Supportive Community Innovations on Willow Street.

At 10 a.m., Community Church of Vincennes will host an Easter message, along with an egg hunt for toddlers through sixth grade and lunch.

Additional egg hunts are planned for 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene and Indiana Presbyterian Church on Lower Indiana Road.

Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available from noon to 1 p.m. at Thursday Church on Main Street.

More community egg hunts are also planned Saturday in Vincennes and Bicknell.

In Vincennes, the Parks and Recreation Department will host a community egg hunt at Gregg Park Shelter House. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., with the hunt starting at 11.

At the same time, the Bicknell Fire Department will hold its annual Easter egg hunt at Southside Park, a tradition that has continued for more than 60 years.
