Vincennes University celebrated the Class of 2025 on Saturday with Spring Commencement ceremonies on the Vincennes Campus.
Graduates crossed the stage inside the P.E. Complex as the University recognized student achievements across a wide range of academic programs, from nursing and education to technology and the arts.
Student speaker Marissa Bradley, a graduate of the College of Health Science and Human Performance, reflected on the impact of her campus involvement.
“The thing that really helped shape my experience was getting involved and working for the Office of Student Activities,” Bradley said. “Being a worker in the Office of Student Activities has brought me lifelong friends, role models that I can look up to and learn from their guidance, and opportunities that not many students get to experience.”
The University also awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Public Service to former Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, who completed eight years in office in 2024. Holcomb has long-standing ties to Vincennes and Knox County and praised the University for its statewide reach and reputation.
“I always knew that I could always count on VU to deliver on what I might have been out pitching, whether it was around the state of Indiana or around the country, or around the world,” Holcomb said. “To think about all your campuses—from Fort Branch, to Lebanon, to Fort Wayne, to all the high schools that you’re in—your presence and the impact and effect that that had.”
VU conferred approximately 2,400 bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, and certificates during the ceremony.
