More evidence and testimony are being presented today in the murder trial of William Grimes, who is facing charges in connection with the 2012 death of 85-year-old Lowell Badger.

The trial began Monday in Sullivan County with jury selection and opening statements. The prosecution continued presenting its case on Wednesday.

William Grimes was indicted by a grand jury in April 2024 for Badger’s murder. Just last month, his brother, Arthur Lee Grimes, was also arrested and charged with murder for his alleged role in the 13-year-old case. Arthur Grimes is scheduled to stand trial in August.

A third man, Richard D. Taft, faces a charge of burglary resulting in bodily injury in connection with the case. His next court appearance is set for June 20.
